Using CCC
TL;DR
Reading path for someone using CCC screens who needs to understand what a number means.
You are looking at a screen and need to know what a figure means, whether it is complete, and why it changed.
Start here
- The pipeline, four steps, ten minutes. Most questions resolve to "which step has happened yet".
- Contribution margin, what CM1 and CM2 are.
- Data freshness and history, how to tell a filtered view from a genuine gap.
Then, by question
| Question | Go to |
|---|---|
| What does this column mean? | /dictionary, and the glossary |
| Where did this period's data come from? | The object, under objects |
| Why is margin different from what I expected? | Calculation rules |
| Why does expected differ from realised? | Expected margin |
| Why are these two orders the same customer? | Customer matching |
| Is this customer really new? | Customer sequence and life |
| Why is this figure empty? | Data freshness and history |
Tasks
- Trace an order
- Configure a calculation rule
- Learn from existing rules
- Investigate customer history
- Use tables and exports
Three things that trip people up
The screens default to about three months. A figure that looks missing is usually outside the window.
Amounts are added with their stored signs. Positive costs can be correct. Check dates, currency and signs before changing a rule.
A stale customer dimension leaves margin correct. Margin does not depend on customer grouping, so a margin figure can be perfectly current while customer counts are not.
